Man who posed as 49ers player faces federal fraud charges
A man impersonated a 49ers player and wealthy investor to romance women online, then convinced them to invest in fake opportunities. Working with an accomplice posing as his financial adviser, he extracted roughly $1.3 million from at least 26 victims across multiple states before cutting off contact once their money ran out. Federal authorities arrested both men in Idaho.
