Avalanche’s Cale Makar made highest-paid NHL player with new contract
Colorado locked up its franchise cornerstone with a massive eight-year deal that makes Makar the NHL's highest-paid player at $20.4 million annually. The elite defenseman, who's already won a Stanley Cup and multiple individual awards, will remain an Avalanche through 2035. GM Joe Sakic fulfilled his promise to keep Makar in Colorado for his entire career.
